Five former Mississippi daycare workers have been charged after a viral video surfaced of them wearing a Scream mask and scaring young children.

According to reports, a video surfaced online showing four teachers at Lil’ Blessings Childcare and Learning Center creeping behind children and scaring them. Some children were seen crying and hiding under desk.

At least one set of parents filed felony abuse charges in Monroe County Justice Court on Wednesday.

Sierra McCandless, 21; Oci-Anna Kilburn, 28; Jennifer Newman, 25, and Shyenne Shelton, 28, were all charged with three counts of child abuse. The fifth person, Traci Hutson, 44, was charged with failure to report abuse by a mandatory reporter and simple assault against a minor.

McCandless and Kilburn’s bond was set at $20,000 and Newman and Shelton’s bond was set at $15,000. Hutson was not given a bond.

The owner of the daycare, Sheila Sanders, told authorities she was not aware of the videos until October 5.

Sanders released a statement saying, “I contacted my licensure, and she has gotten involved. The people that did those acts are no longer with us. They were fired. I wasn’t here at the time and wasn’t aware they were doing that. I don’t condone that and never have. I just want to say it’s been taken care of.”
