Florida Daycare Gives 7 Month Old Baby To Stranger

A daycare in Florida is catching heat after an emotionally distraught mother found out that her 7-month-old baby was handed over to a stranger by a daycare employee. The mother has officially filed an administrative complaint against the daycare center.
According to news reports, the Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing Office is seeking to revoke the operating license of Orient Road Child Development Center after receiving the complaint.
The mother of the child, Trinity McCoggle, made a call to 911 on the 25th of January after she arrived at the daycare to pick up her son but to her surprise he was not there.
McCoggle said the daycare worker “went to the back to get him, and when she came back, she said, He’s not here.” McCoggle said, “What do you mean he is not here?!”
Regrettably, the child had been given to another individual who arrived at the daycare center earlier that day.
On the 911 call, you could hear McCoggle yelling that her son is missing.
The licensing office indeed confirmed that Adonis had been given to a stranger who did not properly identify themselves.
Within the hour, an unknown woman returned him to the daycare where the mother and officers were waiting.
The owner of the daycare, Danice Donaldson, released a statement saying: This child was the last child in the classroom, and when the elderly family member came, she pointed and said she came to pick up her grandson. The teacher who released the child never asked for ID as she assumed that she was the parent (family or guardian).”
During further investigation into the daycare, this was not the first time the daycare center misplaced a child, according to documents from the investigation.
A previous situation involved a 4-year-old little girl. She had been left inside a broken-down van. When the child awoke, she noticed she was alone. She then left the van and went inside a nearby building, someone at the location immediately called 911.
During that incident, the daycare center was cited with three different class-one violations. One of them being the most serious of leaving the child in the van. The daycare also had to pay a $750 fine.
McCoggle said she never knew about that situation and if she did, she would have never let her son go there.
A county spokesperson stated that regulators completed “a review of the current incident and the daycare’s compliance history, they have determined that revocation of the operating license is the appropriate action to take during this time.”
The attorney the daycare hired to represent them said his client has plans to appeal the county’s decision. The daycare facility has 15 days to respond to the administrative compliant that seeks to revoke its operating license.
