On Thursday, an ex-Adult Corrections Institute officer was found guilty of having sexual relations with two female inmates, multiple times, within a year.
44-year-old Collins Umoh, of Warwick, R.I., was convicted of three counts of criminal sexual conduct with an inmate under his direct custodial supervision.
Prosecutors stated that Umoh had sexual relations with the inmates while he was employed at the ACI’s Women’s Facility in Cranston, R.I., between 2017 and 2018.
In May 2019, Umoh was apprehended and is no longer an employee of ACI.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec.15. He could receive up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
