Former NBA Player’s Wife Who is Serving 30 Years For His Murder, Denied Parole

The wife of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright, was denied parole at her parole hearing on May 11.

Sherra Wright is serving a 30 year sentence in a Nashville prison for the murder of her husband, Lorenzen.

Lorenzen decomposing body was found in a swamp, just a few days after he was reported missing in 2010. He died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Sherra plotted her husband’s death with Billy Ray Turner, who was the actual shooter and killer. Turner was found guilty of first-degree murder and received a life sentence in prison. Sherra pleaded guilty in 2019 to a lesser charge, facilitation of murder. She received 30 years in prison.

Sherra Wright is years into her sentence and eligible for parole. However, she was denied release based on the seriousness of her offense.

Her next parole hearing is scheduled for May 2027.
