A Fort Worth detective turned himself into Tarrant County Jail after a warrant for his arrest was issued for a burglary charge.

On July 8, Detective Bryan Lafaurie was off-duty when he illegally entered a home with teenagers inside.

The teens called 911 to report an unidentified man with a gun who forced his way into their home.

Officers responded to the burglary-in-progress at the residence. At the scene scene, they learned that Lafaurie entered the home to confront the teenagers about stealing his personal property.

Following the incident, detectives with the police department’s special investigations unit got an arrest warrant for Lafaurie on a charge of burglary.

Shortly after a warrant for his arrest was issued, Lafaurie turned himself in.

Detective Lafaurie, an 8 year veteran with Fort Worth Police Department, was placed on administrative leave.
