The mother of the 3-year-old child who died from a gunshot wound to the head has had her other four children removed from her home.

Lacravivonne Washington, claimed her 3-year-old son, Jalexus Washington, was shot during a road rage incident. Police, however, found no evidence to support her claim. The child was shot in the face at close range.

The Department of Family and Protective Services removed 4 siblings ages 2, 4, 7, and 9 from the home. The children were placed with relatives as there was prior DFPS involvement.

Police are still trying to piece together exactly what happened to Jalexus Washington. The child’s mother is not cooperating with law enforcement and their investigation.

Police were trying to track her whereabouts and check the activity on her cellphone. However, her phone was damaged when police confiscated it.

They are now waiting on records and asking any eye-witnesses for help.

Sources say there is video of Washington at the hospital talking to someone in another vehicle and handing off something.

According to court documents, the mother told police she owned two weapons. One gun was found in the glove compartment of the car. The second one was found in the possession of the child’s father. Sources say they believe that was the weapon fired.

The father was arrested for outstanding warrants not in connection with this case. He told police he was at work and rushed to the hospital when he heard what happened.

The father is out on bond while Lacravivonne Washington is still in jail.

She is charged with endangering a child for having a gun accessible that lead to death. She is also charged for not having any of her children in car seats and for tampering with evidence.
