After rescuing a girl from a possible predator, a bus driver in North Texas is being praised.
The girl was followed by a stranger in a vehicle who tried to get her inside of his car, Garland ISD noted. As the girl was running in the direction of the waiting bus, the bus driver let her get on and closed the doors.
The unidentified bus driver then turned the bus to block the predator’s car, close to a cul-de-sac, so that he couldn’t get away after finding out what was going on. The bus driver was then able to get a picture of the suspect’s license plate and called authorities.
Garland ISD officials noted that the information was given to the Richardson police, and it was found that the suspect was wanted for a sexual assault case. He was apprehended.
The bus driver is being honored for being dedicated to student safety, for being brave, and for taking action quickly.
