“Ghost” Camaros are on the Roads to Assist in Patrolling Texas Highways

1.8kviews

The Harris County Sheriff’s office will be using a fleet of white Chevrolet Camaro’s and using special “ghost” decals that will make it easier to catch speeding drivers.

The vehicles are not totally unmarked.
However, the current police decals are being substituted with pale reflective white markings on top of the car’s already white finish.
You can still see the decals from certain angles in the right light. Additionally, they have hidden lights and sirens in order to remain discreet.

Over time, police may find their jobs a little harder as people become skeptical of plain, unmarked cars attempting traffic stops. This may be a grater concern in remote communities.
