Granbury Middle School Teacher Resigns After Burning A Students Hands During A Science Experiment

A Granbury middle school teacher has resigned after lighting a 12 year old students hands on fire.

According to reports, authorities received a call Friday regarding a student being burned on school property.

When officers arrived they learned that a 37 year old science teacher had burnt a students hands.

The teacher was performing a science experiment that day where she lit hand sanitizer on fire.

One student in particular suffered possible 3rd-degree burns on his hands.

Since the incident, Granbury ISD released a statement saying the teacher is no longer an employee of the school district following the student’s injury.

The incident remains under investigation and will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
