An investigation is underway after a gun was reportedly brought to an elementary school Thursday morning and it went off inside the building.
Dallas ISD confirmed that a gun was accidentally discharged inside John Carpenter Elementary School located at 2121 Tosca Lane.
The school did not go on lockdown because the incident happened before classes started. The district also said there was no reason to believe there was an ongoing threat.
