A security guard accidentally shot a robbery victim while trying to stop an attempted robbery in Houston.
Officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a nightclub on the 9900 block of North Fwy shortly after 3 a.m.
Upon their arrival they found a man suffering from two gunshot wounds to his back. He was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.
According to reports, the security guard witnessed a male victim in the parking lot being approached by two masked gunmen.
As they attempted to rob him the security guard pulled out his handgun and shot two times striking the robbery victim.
The security guard was able to detain one of the suspects until authorities arrived as the other one fled in a grey Dodge Charger.
At this time the investigation is still open and no new information has been released.
