Approximately 300 to 400 FedEx packages were located in the woods near Hayden, Alabama, on Wednesday. Now, authorities are trying to determine how they got there.
As sheriff officers monitored the area, multiple trucks and drivers from FedEx arrived to place the boxes back on the truck to retrieve them. Pictures of the scene posted to Facebook reveal packages scattered around the forest and gathered at the bottom of hill.
“The security of our customers’ shipments is a top priority. We are committed to treating our customers’ packages with the utmost care. We are taking steps to recover and transport the affected packages as quickly as possible. In addition to cooperating with law enforcement, we are conducting a review of this situation and will take the appropriate action,” Memphis, Tennessee- based FedEx said in a released statement.
The area where the packages were recovered is about 30 miles from Birmingham.
