Italy ISD Extends Winter Break Due To COVID-19 Outbreak

A North Texas school district has lengthened its winter break for students due to a rise in COVID-19 cases within the district.
Italy ISD announced Sunday via social media that due to a high rise in COVID-19 cases with staff members that students will not return to school until January 11.
They posted to Facebook saying, “Out of abundance of caution, Italy ISD will be extending its holiday break until Monday, January 11th. This is partly due to a rise in Covid-19 cases among our faculty and staff.  Faculty, staff, and students will all return to school on the 11th at their regular times.”
They did not go into detail about how many staff members tested positive
