A popular YouTuber who is known for his critically-given relationship advice, Kevin Samuels, 56, has passed away, his mother has confirmed.

Beverly Samuels-Burch didn’t give details about her son’s cause of death. However, she says that she found out about it on social media.

“That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn’t even know. I hadn’t even been notified. All I’m doing is requesting that people pray for us,” she stated during a phone interview.

On Thursday morning, the Atlanta Police Department said that officers arrived to an apartment on East Paces Ferry Road NE. They had received a call about a person who had been injured.

They immediately began CPR on a man who wasn’t conscious. He was later identified as Samuels.

A woman inside of the apartment had disclosed to authorities that she had spent the night. In the morning, Samuels had said that he was having chest pains. She tried to assist him, but he fell. The woman, a nurse, then dialed 911.

Police say that Samuels was transported to Piedmont Hospital.

Samuels who called himself an image consultant, had over 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube. His thoughts, that many believed were demeaning to Black women, were always controversial.

Just last week, many people were upset when he said that single women over 35 were “leftovers.”

Many social media users expressed their sentiments on his passing.

“What did Kevin Samuels die from? Being 56 an unmarried?” wrote one user.

However, some defended him. “Kevin Samuels was a good dude who had given a lot of people solid advice. He got smeared for having a backbone and an opinion. He didn’t back down to the mob. Rest In Peace,” another user wrote.
