Kodak Black’s Lawyer Says Oxycodone Pills Found During Rapper’s Arrest Were Prescribed

Last Friday, Hip-hop star Kodak Black was apprehended after officers in Florida discovered 31 oxycodone pills and $74,960 in cash in the rapper’s vehicle.

However, his lawyer, Bradford Cohen, says that the pills were prescribed.

Cohen reported that the 25-year-old “Tunnel Vision” artist still has pain after he was shot in February. He is also said to have been assaulted by guards when he was in prison before that.

The lawyer has noted that he has provided the prescription documentation to prosecutors.

Kodak Black, whose birth name is Bill Kapri, was charged with possession of a controlled substance without prescription and trafficking oxycodone.

“Never judge a case based on an arrest. There are facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We negotiated a bond of $75,000, and we will move forward with resolving the matter quickly,” Cohen said.

Previously, Black was given four years in prison for falsifying  documents in order to purchase weapons. However, in January 2021, former President Donald Trump commuted his sentence almost two years early.

Later, the rapper pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in relation to an incident with a high schooler in a hotel room.
