Brooks Lamberton, a vice-president for City National Bank, is a 29-year-old from Los Angeles who was one of three people who died last week when lightning hit in a park. The incident happened across from the White House.

Brooks had been on business in Washington D.C. when he was struck by lightning on Thursday evening in Lafayette Park. He dealt with sponsorships for the bank and used to work in the marketing department for the L.A. Clippers.

Others who died as a result of the strike include James Mueller, 76, and Donna Mueller, 75, of Janesvile, WI. The couple had been in D.C. for an anniversary trip at the time. They leave behind five children, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Officials say that officers with the Secret Service and the U.S. Park Police observed the lightning strike and ran over to assist those in need.

Another victim, a woman who hasn’t been named, had been placed in the hospital in critical condition.
