Following a dispute between a passenger and a man, a Lyft driver was fatally shot.
Authorities say that 31-year-old Laura Allen was shot and killed in her vehicle on Monday evening. Detectives think that she had just dropped off a passenger on Cedar Croft Court, in Dekalb County, Georgia. That’s when the passenger got into a disagreement with a man.
Allen is the daughter of Peachtree Corners Councilman Joe Sawyer.
Police have named Lerelle Chatman, 23, as the man who fired multiple shots into Allen’s vehicle before taking off.
Witnesses reported hearing about 10-15 gunshots around 8:45 p.m.
Eventually, Chatman was found with a rifle and began shooting at officers. Multiple bullets hit the officers’ vehicles and another vehicle at a gas station.
Dekalb County officers began shooting back at Chatman, and he was killed.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now investigating Chatman’s death.

Thats terrible I’m praying for the family & friends of this young lady. She did not deserve this basically trying to make a living.
