41-year-old Justin Lamar Jones, confessed to killing his wife and 17-year-old stepson, Ty Finister, with a mallet, prior to raping a woman.
The incident happened in Lake County, Florida, on Wednesday, inside of a residence, at the Thousand Trails RV Resort, at 244 Jewelfish Road, in Clermont.
Jones has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and sexual battery.
Records show that a woman at the residence witnessed Jones striking Ty with a hammer or knife. She yelled for him to quit. She stated that Jones then slammed her onto the ground and wrapped up her ankles, wrists, and mouth with duct tape. He then put her on a kitchen dinette.
The woman said that Jones began to hit Ty some more until he was silent. He then started to rape her. She was only able to get away by requesting to go to the bathroom.
When authorities arrived on the scene, the teenager was deceased. Then, another body was found in the trailer that was said to be Jones’ wife.
While officials looked for Jones, his vehicle was found in the parking lot of a grocery store. He was found, not too long after that, running down a road. Jones was then apprehended.
Jones confessed to attacking his wife with a mallet and placing her body in a bag, below the bed. He also confessed to beating Ty and putting a bag over his head. Authorities say that he confessed to sexually assaulting the woman who survived, as well.
Detectives believe that the family had just moved into the community.
