A man is in custody after fatally shooting a friend multiple times on Halloween.
According to reports Officers responded to a shooting call on the 2700 block of Coombs Street around 7pm.
Upon arrival they found the victim, Jasmond Sanchez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It was later determined that the suspect, Kevontre Jawauna Jones, 28 and Sanchez has been fighting over drugs.
Authorities say Jones left the scene after the shooting and called police.
He initially denied knowing Sanchez.
After speaking with family and friends police learned the men had known each other for years.
Jones later admitted to knowing Sanchez, to police and told them that Sanchez walked up to his car and started punching him in the head.
Jones said for his life he shot Sanchez multiple times.
The two had been arguing over drugs and Jones mother claims Sanchez has threatened her son on multiple occasions prior to the shooting.
He was arrested early Monday morning on a drug possession warrant and is now facing a murder charge. He remains in custody on a $250,000 bond.
