David Alan Taylor, 41, has been arrested and charged after supposedly attacking a minor at a little league football practice.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, in Florida, says that Taylor is facing charges of cruelty toward a child and disorderly conduct.

On September 20, Taylor was first observed in a verbal dispute with the coaching staff at Longleaf Elementary School. Court documents note that Taylor was angry after his son was overpowered as a scrimmage took place.

Taylor “immediately got a helmet and placed it on his head, then got into a football stance,” authorities say.

Bystanders told police that they witnessed Taylor run and strike the minor’s chest with the helmet. There are also claims that Taylor grabbed the minor and shoved him several feet prior to coaches stepping in.

Taylor was freed from jail on a $30,000 bond.
