Man Arrested For Pulling Out Gun During Road Rage Incident In Mesquite


A man was arrested after a road rage incident led to two men fighting in a parking lot where one pulled out a gun and pointed it at the other.

On September 13, around 4:30 p.m., police received reports about two men fighting in a parking lot on the 18600 block of Interstate 635.

A video shows one of the men knocking the other down who is identified to be 51-year-old Stephen Phillips. Phillips gets up and pulls out his gun pointing it at the other man. They start to tussle with the gun resulting in the other man taking it away from Phillips.

According to the police, Phillips tried to shoot but the gun’s safety was on. Also, the other man accidentally fired the gun while trying to clear it. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the altercation.

Phillips was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
