A California man was beaten and robbed of his life savings in a bank parking lot last week.
Francisco Cornejo,55 was brutally beaten after he left a Chase bank located at Pacific Boulevard and Belgrave Avenue.
Cornejo withdrew $200,000 from his account after a recent sale of his home and was attacked and robbed in the parking lot by an unknown suspect.
The attack was caught on video but the suspect was wearing a hoodie so his face could not be seen and all you could see was the victim on the ground and the suspect fleeing the scene.
According to Cornejo’s attorney Nathan Soleimani, “He was parked as closely as possible to the bank, knowing he was going to withdraw a large amount of cash. As soon as he got to his car, before he was able to get to his car, he was grabbed and beaten, He was literally fighting for his life savings. And when he was being beaten he was doing his best to try and retain the bag that he brought with him.”
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from the bank and a representative from Chase Bank says they’re working with law enforcement to try and capture the person that did this.
