Two people are dead, and another is wounded after a 7-hour standoff with a gunman that took place in Harper Woods, Michigan.
Police say that a man fatally shot his father and girlfriend, who was able to escape, and then stabbed his mother. A child was unharmed.
At 9:23 p.m., on Sunday evening, SWAT was called about a possible hostage situation, and a suspect who had fired his weapon at police. The initial call was regarding domestic violence in the 20600 block of Kenosha.
Eventually, a robot was sent into the home, and a bomb squad arrived to the location.
Neighbors witnessed a fire that occurred at the residence, and a fire crew was seen spraying water on the home. They also say that two people had come out of the residence after police came to scene. One walked out with authorities, and the other one crawled out.
One witness says that the mother who survived came to her home for assistance with stab wounds and a knife in her back. “I said, ‘Who stabbed you?’ She said, ‘My son. He’s stabbing everyone in the house.'”
No further details have been released, and an investigation is on-going.
