Man Robs Bank For $1, Then Asks To Be Placed In Federal Prison

6.9kviews

On Monday, a supposed bank robber demanded $1 from a
teller. Afterwards, he didn’t leave the location because he wanted officers to arrive on scene and place him in federal prison.

However, 65-year-old Donald Matthew Santacroce was placed in the Salt Lake County Jail, in Utah, for robbery.

“Please pardon me for doing this, but this is a robbery. Please give me $1. Thank you,” a note read that Santacroce gave to the Wells Fargo bank teller.

He then took the money and requested that the bank workers call authorities as he waited for them.

When authorities arrived to the location, Santacroce gave them the $1 bill and requested to be put in federal prison.

Information on why the suspected robber wanted to be imprisoned hasn’t been released.
