A Detroit man has been arrested after officials found 18 guns inside a home where he operated a marijuana vending machine outside.
The alleged owner of the machine, Marcellus Cornwell, was making $2,000 a day. He was operating his business for four years.
The FBI said Cornwell explained how he made a living when they arrived in March with a search warrant.
Agents were aware of the machine and had previously made purchases to collect evidence.
An anonymous customer who took a viral Instagram video of how the marijuana vending machine works, explained the operation.
“He was selling like, souvenirs,” she said. “It’s an excellent service, I think it just got out of hand.”
Cornwell’s vending machine took credit cards and even Apple Pay.
Eighteen firearms, dozens of rounds of ammunition, and several pounds of marijuana was discovered throughout the home.
Cornwell was charged with felony possession of guns and was released on bond by a federal magistrate judge.
