Authorities in Dallas apprehended a man in relation to the disappearance of a teenager from a Dallas Mavericks game in 2022. That teen was eventually discovered in Oklahoma City.
Authorities took Emmanuel Cartagena, 33, into custody.
Police records reveal that the teen went to the game with her father in April. However, the teen met Cartagena after walking to a restroom.
Authorities say that he then took the teen to a residence in Dallas where he is said to have sexually assaulted her.
She was discovered 10 days after that at an Extended Stay America in Oklahoma City. There, she was being held, the family’s lawyers say.
Eight others were apprehended in Oklahoma City in relation to the offense.
