A man was fatally shot and killed by Grand Prairie police in Cedar Hill Thursday night following a police chase and standoff.
According to investigators the incident started in Grand Prairie when an officer attempted to pull the vehicle over for a traffic violation.
The vehicle then sped off causing a police chase that ended in Cedar Hill off Beltline and Hwy 67 that turned into a standoff situation. 
The suspect pulled out a handgun waving it towards police causing Grand Prairie police to shoot the man at the scene.
Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the suspect dead at the scene.
