A Mineral Wells football coach has resigned after allegations of physical misconduct and inappropriate language arose.

On Monday, Mineral Wells ISD announced that Coach and Athletic Director Seth Hobbs has resigned from his position after two students allege that he hit them with a broomstick and used vulgar language.

According to the students, the broomstick is normally used during practices and has a Nerf football attached at one end.

Hobbs’s resignation comes only days after the school district opened up an internal investigation into the matter. He was initially placed on administrative leave the day the investigation was launched, Thursday, April 6.

He resigned Wednesday, April 12.

Hobbs, who’d been with the school district for 6 years, had just signed another 2-year contract.
