Officials in Fort Hood, Texas, had been searching for Pvt. Brendan Lush.
Lush was located on Sunday and was going back to his unit with the assistance of authorities. He is no longer categorized under AWOL status.
Lush is a soldier in the 3rd Calvary Regiment. He was supposed to be at work on May 9 but never showed up. He was noted to be “away without leave” by his chain of command.
III Corps officials stated that they had notified authorities to be in search of where the soldier was and teamed up with them to find Lush.
Pvt. Lush’s mother had posted her frustrations on Facebook. She stated that her son and a female soldier reported that she had been raped. Her son was then threatened by his entire unit. His mother called the Inspector General’s office, and her son was moved. He went missing after that.
Army officials said that they had been in constant communication with Pvt. Lush’s relatives since he had gone missing.
They added that the soldier had been in communication with other soldiers and members of his leadership team. This was done through text messages. However, they didn’t say when the last time the missing soldier had communicated with anyone.
Fort Hood officials stated that they are grateful for the community’s help in finding PVT Lush.
