An Arizona mother has been arrested and charged with her sons death.
According to reports on April 10 Jamie Barrett called 911 and said her son was unresponsive and foaming out the mouth.
Officers arrived to the home near 132nd St and Chandler Blvd.
Upon arrival they found her 15 year old son unresponsive. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.
Initially Barrett told police she believed her son’s marijuana vape pens had been laced with fentanyl.
However, during the investigation officers learned that Barrett had asked her son to get her some fentanyl pills and offered to give him one if he did.
On August 10 the Maricopa County Medical Examiner confirmed that the teen had overdosed on fentanyl.
The mother was arrested the next day.
She was booked into Maricopa County jail for child abuse and remains in custody on a $25,000 bond.
