Mother of Newborn Twins Murdered by Boyfriend

Crystal Crockett, 21, was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend Elijah Clippard June 15 in an alley in Chicago.

Crockett had just given birth to the couple’s twins on March 21. The twins have never been released from the hospital and remain in the NICU.

“My daughter did not deserve this. I want the killer to go to jail.,” her mother stated.

Crockett would have graduated from college in two years with a nursing degree. She was thrilled to be a new mom, her family stated. They also noted that they aren’t very familiar with the suspect. A motive has not been given publicly by officials as of yet. The family has committed to taking care of the newborn twins.

Clippard was noted to have been arrested on June 23 at his South Side home. He is being charged with murder and does not have a bond. He is expected in court July 14.
