An autopsy found that Ciays Whetstone died from fentanyl and ethanol intoxication which was determined to be an accident.

Whetstone, 21, a University of New Orleans student, was dropped off at New Orleans East Hospital where she died shortly after on February 9.

Whetstone’s friends previously said she went to a few bars with her friends before taking an Uber to her boyfriend’s apartment.

After investigating, police have still not publicly identified who dropped her off.

Uber said in a statement that the driver’s account had been deactivated which is a standard procedure. It also said that Whetstone’s trip ended without incident at the requested destination.

The account remains deactivated, an Uber spokesperson said Thursday.

Lawyers for Whetstone’s family said they believe she was the victim of a spiked substance. They also believe the Uber driver failed to take appropriate action.

They are hoping law enforcement and Uber will provide details of real information they need.
