At around 1:45 A.M., the Irving Police Department received a report of an auto theft in progress on the 1500 block of Meridian Drive. The victim was actively pursuing the stolen vehicle, prompting officers to respond urgently and attempt a traffic stop. However, when the suspect did not pull over, a chase began.

Officers followed the vehicle to the 6500 Block of Singleton Blvd in Grand Prairie, where it reached a dead end. The suspect tried to evade capture by ramming several police cars.

Despite repeated impacts with police vehicles, the suspect showed no intent to exit the car, which led officers on the scene to discharge their firearms. The suspect sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for care.

The Irving Police Department is collaborating with the Grand Prairie Police Department to investigate this incident. After being discharged from the hospital, the suspect will face charges and be taken into custody.

Grand Prairie will also work with the Dallas County Public Integrity Unit to carry out a separate investigation. These investigations are ongoing, and no additional information will be provided at this time.
