An investigation is underway after 17-year-old high school senior Roy Hughes was found unresponsive Friday afternoon.
Dallas police responded to the 1800 block of West Mockingbird Lane around noon, where they discovered Hughes unresponsive. Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived and declared him dead at the scene.
Hughes was a senior at Lincoln High School and had attended track practice earlier that morning. After returning home, he took a nap and did not wake up.
The cause of his passing is currently unknown, and an autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
A memorial balloon release will be held in his honor on Sunday, August 10th, at 3 p.m. at Lincoln High School.
