Dallas police are investigating a shooting that led to a death.
On April 17, 2025, around 7:25 p.m., officers responded to a call about gunfire in the 4800 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Yantese Chappell with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue was called to the scene and pronounced Chappell dead.
Detectives are actively working to determine the details surrounding this fatal shooting.
