Garland Woman Fatally Shoots Ex-Boyfriend During Confrontation

An investigation is ongoing following the fatal shooting of a man by his ex-girlfriend during a confrontation in Garland on Monday night.

Police responded just after 11 p.m. to the 1300 block of East Interstate 30, where they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel arrived and declared him dead at the scene.

Reports indicate that the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s apartment without her permission, which led to a verbal altercation. During the dispute, she allegedly shot him.

The pair had previously lived together and had a series of reported disturbances over the preceding months. The woman had filed multiple police reports regarding these issues, some resulting in the man’s arrest for assault on a family member and stalking.

No charges have been filed at this stage, and the woman is cooperating with law enforcement. The identities of both individuals are not being disclosed as the investigation continues.
