A Georgia man was detained Friday on suspicion of threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump.
According to prosecutors, 29-year-old Jauan Rashun Porter participated in a TikTok live stream on July 26 titled “Alligator Alcatraz,” during which he stated, “There’s only one way to make America great, and that’s by putting a bullet in Trump’s eyes.”
He reportedly went on to say, “I’m going to kill Donald Trump. I’ll put a 7.62 round in his forehead,” and described watching him “bleed out.”
When asked about federal agents coming to his home, Porter allegedly responded, “I’m going to kill them too.”
During the investigation, agents from the Secret Service, along with Floyd County police and Georgia probation officers, searched Porter’s residence and recovered two pipes, pistol ammunition, and an explosive device.
Porter has prior convictions for terroristic threats, witness intimidation, mutiny in a penal institution, drug possession, battery, firearm possession by a convicted felon, and domestic violence. He is currently on probation.
He faces charges of knowingly and intentionally making threats against the president.
