Alvis Parrish, 54, told officials, in Florida, that she placed “just enough” poison in her boyfriend’s lemonade to keep him quiet. Then, she called the police, “so he wouldn’t die.”
Officials said that Parrish put a psychotic drug in William Carter’s drink on December 7. She had been residing with the man for 9 years.
When police got to the residence, Parrish was waiting for them.
“Do whatever you want. If you don’t take me, I will kill him,” a police report noted her saying. Authorities said the woman seemed to be intoxicated.
Officers attempted to talk to Carter, 61, but it wasn’t very helpful because the man was “extremely tired.” He did say that he is unsure why his girlfriend put the drug, he hadn’t taken before, in his drink. Authorities discovered a bottle of lemonade with a powdery white substance floating inside.
Initially, the man didn’t want to be taken to a hospital but had to go after collapsing to the floor.
Parrish faces charges of food poisoning or water with the intent to injure or kill a person.
