An investigation is ongoing after Grand Prairie police responded to an incorrect address and discharged their weapons, injuring a resident.

The incident occurred on September 12, around 1:45 a.m., at a residence on the 3000 block of Holly Hill Drive.

Officers were responding to a 911 call about an active disturbance. Due to a miscommunication, the caller’s cellphone provided the wrong address in the dispatch system, causing officers to arrive at a neighboring home instead.

They knocked on the front door for approximately five minutes with no response. Eventually, a resident emerged from the garage, adopted an aggressive stance, and pointed a weapon at the officers.

In response, the officers fired multiple rounds, striking the resident.

The individual was injured in the leg and transported to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment. Their injuries are not life-threatening, and they have since been discharged.
