Three Hooters restaurants in Texas, including a longstanding 24-year-old location in North Texas, have closed.

Since June 2024, more than 70 Hooters outlets across the country have shut their doors, with closures occurring in Grapevine, Houston, and San Marcos. The Grapevine branch, which first opened its doors in 2001, was among those that closed on June 4.

These closures follow the company’s decision to sell all 151 of its company-operated restaurants to a franchise group that already manages locations throughout the United States.

Hooters of America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2025 but assured customers that they would remain open during the bankruptcy proceedings.

Currently, 13 Hooters locations are still operating in North Texas, including spots in Arlington, Cedar Hill, Denton, East Fort Worth, Frisco, Garland, Grand Prairie, McKinney, Mesquite, North Richland Hills, Plano, and West End Dallas.
