A man was shot by his neighbor in Forney after allegedly breaking into the neighbor’s home and attacking him.
On July 27, at approximately 3 p.m., police responded to a report of gunfire at the 900 block of Concord Street. When they arrived, they found a man injured with gunshot wounds and transported him to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
Investigators believe the shooting was connected to a long-standing dispute between the two neighbors.
According to reports, earlier that day, the suspect was intoxicated and approached his neighbor’s residence in an upset state. Despite efforts by family members and bystanders to prevent him, he forced his way inside through a glass door. Once inside, he assaulted the homeowner, who then shot him twice—once in the chest and once in the abdomen. The victim was airlifted to the hospital and is expected to be transferred to jail after he recovers. He is anticipated to be arraigned on charges of burglary of a habitation.
The homeowner, whose name has not been disclosed, sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.
