Person Killed in Shooting on U.S. Highway 75; Authorities Suspect Suicide

A person has died following a shooting on U.S. Highway 75 on Wednesday morning, resulting in the southbound lanes of the highway being shut down.

The Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting call around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday on the highway, also known as Central Expressway, near the Lemmon Avenue exit. When officers arrived, they found a person who had been shot. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded and pronounced the individual dead at the scene. Authorities believe the incident was likely a suicide.

Aerial footage showed police investigating a dark-colored Cadillac sedan at the scene.

Later, around noon, the Texas Department of Transportation announced that the southbound lanes of Central Expressway had been reopened.
