Russian Influencer Mariana Barutkina Breaks Spine While Attempting Nicki Minaj Stiletto Challenge
A mom influencer sustained a back injury while attempting to join the viral Nicki Minaj stiletto challenge.
In an Instagram clip, 32-year-old Mariana Vasiuc is seen balancing on top of a tub of baby formula, which is placed on a saucepan, all while wearing high heels. An assistant holds her hand nearby as she attempts to balance solo on a kitchen countertop.
The challenge turned dangerous when she lost her footing and fractured her spine just eight weeks after giving birth. In the video below, Vasiuc loses her balance, reaches out for the person supporting her, and then falls to the kitchen floor.
She suffered a compression flexion fracture in her vertebra.
Finding humor in the mishap, Vasiuc shared the video of her failed attempt on her Instagram, where it quickly went viral.
Her caption, originally in Russian and translated into English, read: “TREND OR WHOLE BELL?
“I decided to start vlogging — my first shoot, and now I’m leaving the doctor with a diagnosis of ‘Th9 compression fracture of the vertebral body, uncomplicated.’”
