A man in Texas is wanted for murder after allegedly shooting his roommate over a $250 rent dispute.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 21-year-old Angel Gomez Montanez, who is accused of fatally shooting 18-year-old Christopher Rodriguez Lara during a heated argument about unpaid rent.

According to reports, Montanez had been living in an apartment on Butte Creek Road rent-free for three months. When he was asked to pay $250 in rent, he reportedly became upset, pulled out a handgun, and shot Rodriguez.

Montanez escaped the scene before authorities arrived and is still at large.

He faces a murder charge, and an arrest warrant has been issued.
