
Five law enforcement officers were shot during a warrant execution at a farm in York County Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of three officers, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed.
The two remaining officers are in critical but stable condition at WellSpan York Hospital. The suspect was also shot and is deceased. Police state that he was shot by officers at the scene.
According to reports, the shooter is believed to be the ex-boyfriend of a woman residing at the farmhouse on Haar Road, where the incident took place.
Officers responded around 2:10 p.m. to the 1800 block of Haar Road to follow up on a domestic disturbance that had begun the previous day. During the operation, law enforcement was ambushed by the suspect.
Following the shooting, the Spring Grove School District initiated a shelter-in-place order, and several nearby roads were closed as law enforcement secured the area.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the shooter or the officers involved. Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Col. Christopher Paris did not specify how the shooting unfolded but described the scene as large and active, assuring there is no ongoing threat to the community.
