Zachary Mills, 21, is facing charges after being accused of abducting, torturing, and sexually assaulting a woman that he became acquainted with through a dating app.
Mills, of Spring, Texas, has been charged with a first-degree felony of aggravated kidnapping. The reported incident is said to have started on Christmas Eve and lasted for five days.
Records show that the victim met Mills on the Bumble dating app and then decided to go to his residence in Spring.
When she arrived, she said that Mills attempted to have sex with her, but she didn’t want to. He then started to punch, slap, and bite the victim. Mills is also said to have raped her and repeatedly hit her with a screwdriver.
Authorities believe that Mills kept the victim from having food and water as he held her in his home for five days.
The woman was eventually able to get away on Thursday when Mills left the residence to go to his father’s home. Detectives say that the woman suffered black eyes, bite marks, lacerations to her throat and nose, and more marks throughout her body.
Mills was apprehended on Friday. He was later released subsequent to posting a $50,000 bond, but he is on a 24-hour house arrest, except for necessary travel.
In March, Mills will be arraigned and could face more charges.
