26-year-old Jaylon Ferguson, a linebacker/defensive end with the Baltimore Ravens, was discovered unresponsive, in his home, on Tuesday evening.

Authorities say that they received a call about a “questionable death,” close to 11:30 p.m. Paramedics arrived to the location in Baltimore and declared Ferguson, who was going into his fourth season, deceased on the scene.

There was no indication of foul play or trauma. Ferguson’s body was transported to a medical examiner’s office for an autopsy, and police have not “ruled out an overdose.”

Ferguson, also known as “Sack Daddy” was 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds. He was chosen by the Ravens as a third-round pick from Louisiana Tech in 2019. Ferguson played in 38 games, started in 10 of them, and accomplished 4.5 sacks.

“We’re profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson. He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and an infectious personality…,” the Ravens said in a released statement.

Ferguson makes the third NFL player that has died since the beginning of this off-season.
