An Oak Cliff woman was sentenced to life in prison for a murder-for-hire love affair.
Jennifer Faith, 49, convinced her boyfriend, Darrin Ruben Lopez, to murder her husband, Jamie Faith.
On October 9, 2020, Lopez shot Jamie 7 times from his truck, killing him. At the time, Jamie was standing next to his wife and their dog, outside of the couple’s home.
Following her husband’s death, Jennifer put on a front and went on TV asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect’s vehicle. Once the media was given a description of the vehicle, a black Nissan Titan, she became worried.
Text messages shown in court from Jennifer to Lopez read, “I woke up in a little bit of a panic….something is eating away at me telling me you need to take the sticker out of the back window of the truck.”
The sticker was a distinctive “T” decal on the back window.
One month after Jamie’s murder, Jennifer made an insurance claim seeking $629,000 in death benefits through his employer.
She was arrested in February 2021 and charged with obstruction of justice. In September 2021, prosecutors added a murder-for-hire charge, which carries the death penalty.
In exchange for a guilty plea, the death penalty would be taken off of the table.
Jennifer pleaded guilty to Use of Interstate Commerce in the Commission of Murder-for-Hire. She was sentenced on Tuesday to life without the possibility of parole.
Lopez is currently awaiting his trial for Murder.
