Off Duty Dallas County Sheriff Employee Arrested After Pointing A Handgun At A Victim During Argument

Dallas police were called to an armed encounter disturbance call early Sunday morning.

When officers responded to the call on the 400 block of W. Commerce Street they learned that a family member was dog sitting at the time of the shooting.

The caller, who was also the victim, told police that 61 year old Lora Johnson started complaining about the dog barking.

The victim then said that they became involved in a verbal argument with Johnson that turned physical. It was said that Johnson hit the victim in the face before pulling out her handgun and pointing it at the victim.

Johnson was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

It was later stated that Johnson is an employee at the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and was off duty at the time of her arrest.
