After a man tried to rob a Hitchcock police officer, on Monday morning, he was shot by the off-duty cop.
The incident occurred close to 5 a.m., in the 3100 block of Spencer Highway, in Pasadena, Texas.
Sgt. Louis Garcia was exiting his apartment complex, in his truck, when the man approached him, holding a gun. He then tried to rob him.
Sgt. Garcia then drew his weapon and shot the man one time, authorities say.
The suspect was transported to a medical facility, and his condition was unknown. The sergeant seemed to be okay.
The Pasadena Police Department is investigating the matter.
